Initially built for KiwiCon 2011 the game has been converted for online play.
The main aim of the game is to gain access to the reactor control system
On your way you can earn points by gaining code exec on hosts and
win tokens by finding them hidden throughout the game. You will
soon be able to spend these tokens on hints to help you complete
the task of shutting down the reactor
People wanting to participate are asked to register by following the Register to play link to the left. The environment is a little smaller than the original game but does contain the same core functionality, DMZ, Windows AD domain and the reactor control comprising ~30 hackable hosts and 8 hosts serving control and firewalling functions.
The game is offered to help those who want to learn to compromise computer systems without the burden
of having to get permission from a company to play on their network.
Some companies also choose to use the game as a recruitment tool.
The game resets at 03:00 NZST every Tuesday morning If you are playing at that time, you will likely lose connectivity with all the hosts in the game.
